About Dr. Ronilee Mooney

Dr. Ronilee Mooney brings over 20 years of experience in public education across Rhode Island and Massachusetts. She has served as an ESL teacher, ESL specialist, Assistant Principal, and Director of English Learners, developing deep expertise in instructional leadership and multilingual learner programming.
Dr. Mooney holds a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and specializes in building sustainable systems that improve outcomes for English Learners and Multilingual Learners. Her work centers on differentiated instruction across varying levels of English proficiency, compliance and program development, and strengthening teacher capacity to effectively serve ELs/MLLs in general education settings.
In addition to her leadership roles in public education, Dr. Mooney is an EL/MLL consultant supporting districts with professional development, program evaluation, and strategic planning. She also served as an Adjunct Professor at Salve Regina University, where she mentors undergraduate and practicum teacher candidates.

Rather than treating language development as an isolated initiative, she helps districts embed it into the foundation of teaching and learning.
